Manchester High's Natoya Goule hit her best form at last weekend's Gibson Relays to pilot her school to two Championships titles.

The impressive Goule brought the entire National Stadium to its feet on the final leg of the 4x800m when she powered her school to victory after collecting the baton in third place, some 10 metres behind the leaders.

The wins were sweet, not only for the girls from Mandeville, but the entire Jamaica, as they beat two highly touted Team Bickle USA quartets.

ecstatic after the race

In the 4x800, Team Bickle USA, an all-high-school selection, led by approximately 15 metres on the third leg, but Manchester High's Goule, a national junior representative, ran a 2:05.8 split on anchor leg to take her team home in 8:49.01, ahead of Holmwood (8:51.91).

Goule was ecstatic after the race for which Neisha Morgan, Kimberly Brown and Sharleen Brown ran the first three legs.

"All that was on my mind was to take my team home," she said.

The 4x400m was just as exciting, as again, Team Bickle USA took the challenge to the Jamaicans, but like the 4x800, failed on the final leg. Manchester, again with Goule with a 52.8 seconds split, proved too much for their opponents by taking victory in 3:38.38 ahead of Edwin Allen, who put up a serious final-leg challenge, but ended in 3:39.55.

The Manchester team, which also included Shana-Gaye Tracey, Denesha Morris and Sandrae Farquharson, was praised by coach Jerry Holness.

Following her outstanding relay legs, Goule who is now in Florida for the NACAC Cross Country Championships, was selected as Gleaner Sports' Performer of the Week.
