FORCEFULLY driving home its claim of being the biggest tipsters' sponsor in the history of local racing, the island's leading bookmaker, Track Price Plus Limited, has added a whopping $80,000 to the overall prize money of the STAR/Track Price Plus Pick-6 Tipsters Competition.

Already the richest tipsters' competition ever in which participants can win up to $40,000 each race day by way of a complimentary $100 stake on a Track Price Plus Pick-6 Accumulator bet, the bookmaking company has gone a step further by increasing the overall first prize in wins at the end of the year to $90,000, up from $30,000 last season.

Track Price Plus' additional cash has surpassed the $80,000 being offered as overall first prize money by sponsors of the CTL Tipsters competition.

In addition, second place has been increased to $30,000, up from $20,000, and third place will now receive $20,000, up from $10,000.

Chock-full of cash for tipsters, The STAR/Track Price Plus Pick-6 tipsters competition also offers a $7,000 monthly incentive for most wins in a month, in addition to an $8,000 bimonthly cash prize for the top long shot every two months, starting at odds of 5-1.

Positive response

Already tipsters have responded positively, as Ian 'Indian Flame' Johnson, February's monthly incentive winner, noted recently.

"I still have a narrow lead over Jimmie, and with Track Price Plus increasing the winner's purse to $90,00, I am sure everybody will be going for it. I am expecting The Clockman to come off his bridle very soon and it will be a fiercely contested year," he said.

Donovan 'The Clockman' Cunningham, who has won the competition for the last four years, is the five-time defending champion of the contest, which is in its seventh year.
