In recent weeks, there have been on-going discussions about the type of music being broadcast over the airwaves. I agree that some of the music is too graphic for airplay.
This has prompted the Broadcasting Commission to censor those songs which are sexually suggestive, as well as the television broadcast of the wanton gyrating that accompany these music.
What about the plays
However, the commission needs to look beyond the music industry, and such music deemed as in-appropriate. I have not heard mention of the behaviour of some cast members in our local plays. One preview from a particular comedy is laced with suggestive lyrics, accompanied by obscene gyrating. Most of these reviews are viewed on national TV.
Zero tolerance should be right across the board and not confined to any particular circumstance. These play previews, laced with sexual and suggestive material, should also be placed under the microscope.
