One of the many television sets installed in the customer service area of the Jamaica National bill payment office on Ruthven Road is for customers in line waiting to pay their bills. However, the only persons who can see the television are the cashiers/customer service agents collecting the money. Something is wrong here.
I'm in line along with other lawful drivers, waiting my turn to exit a minor road on to a major road; four taxi cabs filled with passengers pass on the right, forcing drivers coming up the road lawfully to take to the sidewalks to give them space. The taxi cabs force themselves to the head of the line, and force motorists to move out of the way so that they can continue on to the main road. Something is wrong here.
I'm in traffic waiting for the light to change; a JUTC extended bus passes at a good speed in front of me going across the intersection. The bus is loaded with passengers and I note with shock that the JUTC bus driver is talking on his cellphone. Something is wrong here.
A by-election is to be held in West Portland because the politicians refuse to uphold the law. Now the taxpayers will have to fork out $35 million to do over the election. Something is wrong here.
There is more but I'm sure you get the picture. Something is wrong here. Is it me or is this the way things are in the asylum?
I am, etc.,
