Having the blues
Latoya Grindley, Gleaner Writer

With her floral, blue-print top, jazzed up with a pair of white jeans and blue head-band, Radian Dixon is ready for an evening out at the movies. Outfit and accessories provided by June Plum, Shop 6D, Mall Plaza.

Tomorrow is being celebrated as Peace Day and synonymous with the acknowledgement of Peace Day is wearing blue. Seen as the colour of peace, tranquility and calm, persons are urged to add the colour blue to their outfits tomorrow.

Many think it is a daunting task to find a colour to pair with blue, as it relates to creativity. Truth be told, though, it is actually the opposite. Blue is a very bold and, at times, warm colour, depending on the shade, it complements many other colours (you'd be surprised) and, of course, different complexions.

Here are some fashionable blue items that caught Flair's attention. Hopefully, you will be inspired. And remember, it is now trendy to mix, match and blend colours so blue should be no exception. Go blue, this Peace Day!

Try shades of blue with shades of red and white, browns, greens, yellows and black.

Bold colours are hot in eye makeup, which makes blue one of the colours of choice. With a variety of shades, you can create the drama or subtle effect, depending on your style and, of course, the occasion. Available at the Beauty Spot, Lee's Fifth Avenue, Tropical Plaza.

This dress can certainly give ideas as to the different colours with which blue can be combined. And, if you don't have something entirely blue, splashes of blue can still be worn come this Peace Day.
