What changes do you think United States President Barack Obama will bring about in the world?

Michael Chambers, student:

I think he will be at the centre of both social and economic change in the world. I also think he will impact the Caribbean greatly since Jamaica depends on the US for various reasons. I would also hope that he makes some positive decisions regarding the Middle East and the war situation.

Barrington Moody, taxi driver:

He gives black people more hope. I think he changes the way black people think about their potential. He's motivation in its purest form, he himself represents change within itself, and so I can see a lot of positives in the future.

Errol Smith, businessman:

He opens up a limelight on us as black people in the world. He has ended the Bush era. He is my motivation right now, and we are on top right now. I believe he can change the US and, by extension, Jamaica. I believe he will shake up Jamaica in a good way!

Cynthia Ingram, practical nurse:

There are a lot of things that need to be changed in the US and I believe that Mr Obama will make or be the beginning of such change. I'd like to see more jobs in the US and if the economy were worked on, it would be beneficial to Jamaica and the rest of the world.
