Catching,pitch irk Edwards
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (CMC):

Fidel Edwards feels let down by two important features over the first two days of the fourth Test against England.

The West Indies fast bowler bemoaned the docile nature of the Kensington Oval pitch and the spate of dropped catches that offered reprieves to all of England's top-order batsmen, except Owais Shah.

"It is kind of tiring right now bowling on all of these flat pitches," he conceded. "We were hoping to get some more life out of the pitch - get a good pitch on which to play - seeing we were playing on pitches in Jamaica and Antigua which were pretty flat.

"We were hoping to get some pace out of it and we did not get it, so it is one of those games when we tried to remain strong and keep bowling and hope for the best."

Could have been better

Edwards finished with three wickets for 151 runs from 30 overs, but his figures could have been much better had three chances put down off him been taken.

"It is pretty hurtful, but this is the way it goes in the game," he said. "I don't think the guys deliberately drop catches, but we have to start taking our chances because sometimes the batsmen make you pay for them."
