Hundred for Bravo

Bravo

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):

Leading West Indies all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo, advertised some readiness for competitive cricket when he smashed an unbeaten hundred for Queen's Park CC in Trinidad and Tobago's Carib Twenty20 match on Thursday.

Sidelined from international cricket since last year August because of an ankle surgery, Bravo smashed a blistering hundred and steered Queen's Park CC to a 95-run victory over Woodland Sports Club at Queen's Park Oval in his first competitive match in seven months.

189 for two off 20 overs

Batting first, Queen's Park CC compiled 189 for two off 20 overs, with Man of the Match Bravo cracking 126 off 85 balls, with 13 fours and six sixes.

Woodland never threatened the target and replied with 94 for seven off their 20 overs.

The 25-year-old Bravo, who has played 31 Tests and 88 ODIs, is anxious to return to international cricket.

He missed out on the Stanford Super Series, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Limited Overs Tournament in Guyana, the One Day International (ODI) matches against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, all in 2008, and the tour of New Zealand in 2008-09.
