Digicel has embarked on an islandwide Carnival Jump Off road show series, bringing its offerings and a mix of live entertainment to its customers.

Customers in and around Montego Bay became the first to experience the Carnival Jump Off event as they converged at the Super Plus parking lot along Barnett Street on Tuesday.

Heavy rains drenched the city and delayed the midday start, but this did not deter patrons from turning out, primarily to get some freebies, but more so to be entertained by D'Angel, D Major, Martina and Christopher Martin, Digicel's 2005 Rising Stars winner.

Vibe and energy

"We have been sponsoring carnival for years, so we decided to take some of the elements out of our Mas Camp carnival events on to the road to every nook and cranny of Jamaica," said Janine Effs, Digicel's marketing executive for special projects.

Abiding by its trend to offer phones at cheaper prices at its carnival events, Effs said they brought dealers and the same kind of vibe and energy into Montego Bay and it was well accepted.

Other towns slated for the Digicel Carnival Jump Off road show are Ocho Rios, St Ann, which is scheduled for next Monday, March 2, Linstead, St Catherine, on March 3, and Falmouth, Trelawny, on March 4, where the series will climax.
