Jamaica's Sunshine Girls will be aiming to level their three-Test series against rivals England, when they meet the hosts today in Game two in Coventry, starting at 7 p.m. (2 p.m. Jamaica time).

The Jamaicans, who are ranked number four in the world, were beaten 67-54 by the number three-ranked Englishwomen in their opening match of the series in the O2 Arena on Sunday.

Annette Daley, assistant coach of the Sunshine Girls, said she was confident that they can bounce back by winning today's game.

Analysis

"We are definitely going for a win tomorrow (today) because the girls have done their self-analysis and team analysis and we had a good training session and they are ready to go," said Daley.

"We also have to ensure that we go in there with the attitude for a win for both our last two games to come, but we are taking it one step at a time," she said.

Reflecting on the team's opening defeat, Daley said they will have to ensure that they come out very strong in the first two quarters, as they did in the second half of their first match; and also to take care of the ball whenever they have possession and reduce the number of turnovers.

"Our attacking team has to execute and the defending team also has to defend stoutly, because we didn't start strongly in both areas in the first game," said Daley.

Opening match

The Jamaicans trailed the English 38-19 at half-time, but they rallied in the second half to close the deficit.

"We didn't come out strong in the first game because we were playing flat and, therefore, it was in the second half that we really started playing the way we normally play, and it proves if we play that way we can win the match," Daley added.

The Sunshine Girls will once again be depending heavily on goal shooter Romelda Aiken, who sunk 35 goals from 38 tries, and captain Simone Forbes, who netted 19 goals from 24 tries in the opening match.

The final Test will be played on Thursday at the FM Trent Arena in Nottingham.
