Leg-spinner Odean Brown lifted Jamaica on Thursday's opening day of the fifth round regional first class match against Windward Islands with an outstanding bowling performance.
Three top order batsmen, Andre Fletcher (61), Kevin James (55) and Keddy Lesporis (50), scored half centuries for Windwards, who at one stage were cruising on 203 for three.
However, Brown who finished with 6-85 broke, the back of the Windwards batting as the hosts lost their last six wickets for 46 runs.
Jason Charles, 26, and Lesporis put on 70 for the first wicket. Brown claimed both batsmen within 19 runs of each other as Windwards went to lunch at 121-2.
Fletcher and James then took centre stage in an 88-run, third- wicket stand which propelled the Windwards to 177 and laying the foundation for a big score.
But, again, Brown intervened when he bowled Fletcher shortly after lunch, and along with the scalp of Darren Sammy, nine, Windwards slipped further to take tea at 214-4.
After tea, Brown, who is in his 23rd first class match, undermined the Windwards batting along with captain Tamar Lambert and Nikita Miller.
Thursday's haul brought Brown's first class tally to 82 wickets.
