The Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Claro Super League competition heats up today when leaders Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) host fourth place Santos at Up Park Camp, starting at 3:30 p.m.
The JDF leads the standings with 23 points, three ahead of Santos, who are in joint third place with August Town on 20 points.
In the day's other games, second-place Bull Bay (21) face bottom- place Liguanea United (0) at Jamaica College field, August Town (20) oppose Maverley/Hughenden (7) at Maverley Park, Constant Spring (19) battle Duhaney Park Strikers (16) at Baldwin Crescent and Real Mona (14) tackle Mountain View (4) at Buttercup Park.
For today's matchup, the JDF's coach, Owen Nelson, says his team is focused.
"I think we are mentally ready for this game because over the past couple of matches we have been playing according to our true strengths and the team is also getting better as the season goes on."
Nelson added that his team has been playing tactically better than they did last season, and once they play to their ability they should come out on top.
"I am very confident we can get all three points tomorrow (today) because once we play to our full potential, then we should be able to get the victory," said Nelson.
Difficult game
Meanwhile, Carlton 'Spanner' Dennis, coach of Santos, said the game is difficult but they should emerge victorious.
"It is going to be a very tough game, but we are prepared for the task and I think that we are going to win, as long we play a disciplined game."
Dennis added that his team's preparation has been going according to plan and he is hoping that they can transfer their form into this game.
"We are going there to collect all three points and if we can't get all three then we will be satisfied with one because our aim is not to lose any game," he said.
There will also be a full slate of matches in the KSAFA Division one Major League football competition.
The matches are: Rockfort vs Cooreville Gardens at Rockfort, Molynes United vs Brown's Town at Molynes playing field, Meadforest vs Port Royal at Queensborough, Seaview Gardens vs Swallowfield at Seaview Gardens, Olympic Gardens vs Rae Town at Cling Cling Oval, and Central Kingston vs Barbican at Winchester Park.
