Love hits the right 'notes'
Patrons who wanted a romantic, laid-back, candlelight dinner under the stars got just that at Love Notes at the exquisitely decorated ruins of the Mona Visitors' Lodge at the University of the West Indies.

The evening was one of sheer elegance, from the décor to the engaging simplicity of the programme. Margaritas were made fresh for each couple's arrival as a photographer snapped away, capturing the moment (patrons would later get their photos in a nifty little keepsake). The scrumptious meal then made for a supreme dining experience, the wait staff adding to the ambience with their precise and pleasant service.

The entertainment was no less exquisite. Dr Kathy Brown got things started with her soothing renditions of Ribbon In The Sky, a jazzy Time After Time and Loving You. Fellow pianist Yekengele then took over, thrilling the audience with his interpretations of The Way We Were, I Hate You Then I Love You and Rebel In Me. Two of his pieces were accompanied by dancers playing out a romantic game that only Cupid, the love 'choreographer' could have conjured.

After some prize giveaways, the ageless Sonny Bradshaw trumpeted a few goodies before taking to piano to back up his songbird of a wife Myrna Hague. During her interactive performance, the grand dame was escorted to the audience, to be close to her doting fans.

And to wrap up a totally enjoyable evening, the patrons who felt like dancing switched over to the lodge's conference room for the after party.
