Fundraisers and nuptials

Newlyweds Robert Neufville, formerly of Myers, Fletcher & Gordon, Kingston, and Sarah Buckley of Neptune, New Jersey, exchanged marriage vows last week in Trenton, New Jersey. The late-morning wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at the Hilton Gardens in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Tongues are still wagging after the absolute dish of a shindig that the Hanover Charities served for its annual fundraiser on Valentine's weekend at the ultra-fab Round Hill Villas and Hotel.

The verdict is that the two-day event, which commenced with the annual Sugarcane Ball on Valentine's night, followed by polo and high tea the next day, was a smasheroni of the highest order.

But, my dears, if y'all think the Sugarcane ball was hot, the temperature the next day for polo and high tea at the Chukka Blue ranch polo field, in Sandy Bay, Hanover, was the bomb!

Dress code stipulated 'Sunday Best'. Well, my dears, the buzz out of Sandy Bay is that it was a parade of beautiful dresses and other ensemble that would have rivalled even the women who attend international polo matches in Buenos Aires, Argentina!

My dears, out and about in Montego Bay were chairperson of the Hanover Charities, Katrin Casserly and hubby Patrick Casserly; hotelier extraordinaire Josef Forstmayr of the famed Round Hill; the dapper-looking Dr D.K. Duncan, his companion, the stunning Beverly Anderson-Manley, looking positively flawless; Tourism Minister Ed Bartlett; Transport Minister Mike Henry and his fabulous wife Dawn Chambers Henry; Barclay Ewart and wife Deidre; Kingston 'A-crowder' Jennifer Lim; Montego Bay's media veteran, Lloyd B. Smith; celebrated designer and Round Hill habitue resident Ralph Lauren and his uber-fab wife Ricky Lauren, and his son David and companion Lauren Bush.

Also in attendance were Spanish Ambassador Jesus Silva and wife Sara; former United States ambassador to Jamaica, Brenda LaGrange Johnson and hubby J. Howard Johnson; east coast socialites Syd and Sunny Engles; happening hotelier Wayne Cummings; plus a slew of other national and international personalities.

And, speaking of the fabulous, my dears, the invites are out and it promises to be the social event of the season. The buzz is it will be a very intimate do and nothing else, on Friday May 22, the day that land baron and St Andrew socialite Alex Hamilton and his betrothed, the lovely Erica Downer, will exchange their I-dos, in a very private ceremony at one of his Scottish castles, in Bowden Kirk, Melrose, Scotland.

HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations are in order for newlyweds Robert Neufville of Kingston, and his bride, Sarah Buckley of Neptune, New Jersey, who recently exchanged vows in Trenton, New Jersey.

It was a late-morning ceremony that had 200 family members friends and well wishers in attendance.
