Sheldon Pusey, the 25-year-old man accused of killing 64-year-old Ambassador Peter King, made his defence from the witness box yesterday.

King was fatally stabbed and chopped at his home at 11A Waterloo Road, St Andrew, on either March 19 or 20, 2006.

Yesterday, Pusey, who has been on trial in the Home Circuit Court since January 19, said he went to King's house on March 19, 2006, to get a job.

He said he was there for about four hours and when he asked King the time. King said it was about 11 p.m. Pusey said he wanted to leave because it was getting late.

'felt dizzy'

Pusey said after King gave him something to eat and drink, he felt dizzy. King insisted that he stay and began to force him to be intimate. Pusey said he managed to get a knife from a bedside table and used it to stab King.

He said he left the premises and went to his mother's house, where he burned his clothes. He later went to Mango Valley, St Mary, where he remained until he was arrested in March 2007.

Pusey said the knife which he used to stab King was left at King's house. He said after he was pointed out at the identification parade, he did not say that he had "cut the man's throat".

Under cross-examination, Pusey said he also used the names Anthony Blake, AB and Blond Pryce. He said the names were given to him by girls. When asked if he had a lot of girls, Pusey said, "not right now."
