WESTERN BUREAU:The love god has landed offshore Montego Bay with a quiver full of great ideas and plans to dock on the terrace of the elegant Half Moon, guzzle mouth-watering dishes at Wexford's Rosella restaurant and steal a kiss during the movies at the intimate Wine with Me this Saturday.

To help romantics celebrate the day of love, Half Moon is offering special dinner and spa menus, while the Wexford Hotel on the popular Hip Strip has promised two parties in one venue.

Just down the road, Cecile Levee and her creative team say that Wine With Me will be about classic romance, dinner cinema and footsie as Barbara Streisand belts out Memories.

Tagged 'Back to Romance', Levee says, "Having your partner looking at you the way Barack looks at the Michelle, back to the days of Ronald Reagan and Nancy when he said, 'I could be in a room with a thousand persons but if Nancy leaves the room I feel lonely'."

After dining, there will be dancing to Etta James' At Last, the Righteous Bothers' Bring Back That Loving Feeling and celebrating togetherness and, of course, great food and lots of bubbly. Singles are welcome at this event.

Over in Rose Hall, Half Moon's executive chef Stephen Sowa is offering a special menu at their seaside Seagrape Terrace restaurant.

Delectables

The menu begins with the 'Sweetheart Appetiser' of a duet of melon with plump Caribbean shrimp and vodka cocktail sauce; followed by the 'Melt my Heart' champagne and ginger sorbet. For the entrée, couples will dine on Cupid's Arrow - a pan-seared sea bass and tamarind-glazed scallop brochette with saffron beurre blanc, fondant potatoes and steamed asparagus. Dinner culminates with a Sweet Valentine dessert of white chocolate and strawberry crème brulee with dark chocolate sambuca terrine.

Cost is U$60 (J$5,200) per person and does not include tax and service charge. For further information, visit www.halfmoon.com or call 953-2211.

Dinner does not stop there, that is only the beginning; imagine the chocolate melting in your mouth, as Cupid excites your senses, because the chefs at the Wexford plan to deliver on that promise.

With a choice of chicken, fish filet and shrimp, live entertainment and giveaways galore, couples may dine in a private booth for $8,000 or dine in the regular section for $5,200 all-inclusive.

Dinner starts at 5 p.m. For reservations and information, call the Wexford Valentine's hotline at 952-2854/952-3679.
