The global recession is likely to put a dent in Valentine's Day, as some partners may not be able buy the lavish gifts their lovers are accustomed to.

You might have had visions of grandeur - the fully loaded massage package at the day spa, a weekend in Negril, sumptuous dinner at a swanky restaurant, but you haven't quite hammered out the plans. If it's too late to do something spectacular, do the obvious. It sure does beat hand-wringing till the sun goes down.
