Down with the nasties!
The Editor, Sir:

I write in support of the recent ban on 'gutter songs'. If this Government can get nothing else right and might never get a chance to return to governance, at least it should leave office with one achievement and that is some semblance of a return to law and order.

It is my belief that a person who sings such songs, and the persons who enjoy hearing such songs, must be a case for study. Frankly, they must come from some dark place to just sit there and manufacture that nastiness. How then could you explain a normal, sound, level-headed and intelligent mind, operating under the influence of a healthy brain, sitting down and just writing filth? And what kind of person could sit and feast on it?

motives

The legal representative is even worse, when trying to talk about rights, and citing these particular rights. Such a legal person is clearly in the business for the monetary gain.

I believe Vybz Kartel should not even be entertained by way of a discussion. His filth-bearing songs should be banned, generally. I am sure he can survive in the underground environment where his particular type of lyrics would rule supremely.

I am, etc.,

J. M. FLETCHER
