Secret admirer

Romar and Andean

In 2005, Andean Henry met her secret admirer who has now become her fiancé. Romar Ford was the co-worker who called to her and smiled when she passed by.

When she began getting little notes from her 'secret admirer'. Henry had no idea who it could be and went on the hunt. She spoke to her co-workers and asked each of the men in her department but they all said it wasn't them. She eventually asked Ford and he laughed it off before finally admitting it. The rest, as they say, is history.

Twenty-five year-old Ford said from the moment he saw Henry, he thought she was lovely. "I loved her smile, that's what got me. I used to go up to her and compliment her on her hair or whatever just to get her to smile."

Shy guy

A self-proclaimed shy guy, Ford at first used the 'love notes' to convey his feelings. For Ford, Henry has everything he would want in a wife. "She's down to earth, not materialistic, she's a good woman and very loyal."

He proposed to her on her birthday, October 18, 2008. "After we had our son, I decided it was time I settled down because I'd found the right woman." Henry was surprised by the proposal but she told Flair she might have been expecting it as they had been together for so long.

Though an exact date hasn't been set, the couple is thinking about a simple summer wedding. Henry said, "I'm not fussy and he knows that. I don't want anything outrageous, just something simple."

After the wedding day Henry expects that life will go on as usual. "I don't think I will change. We are the same persons, just taking the next giant step in our relationship."

"Things can change but I'll continue to be myself and hope he doesn't change. We'll continue to make our goals together and try to keep them."

The qualities she loves in her husband-to-be are that, "he's very humble, doesn't let anything bother him; even if he's stressed he doesn't show it. I'm the one who worries when I'm stressed; it shows all over. Even if I get mad at him, he keeps his cool, he's very easy-going".

Ready for it

Ford is ready to take on the challenges of marriage as he has the perfect example in his parents who have been married for 34 years and who have given him some words of wisdom.

"Marriage is not an easy thing. You'll be seeing this person every day so you have to be able to communicate to work through your problems though you are not going to agree on everything".
