Three jockeys suspended

Javour Simpson

Apprentice Javour Simpson, who rode CALVIN THE GREAT in the ninth race at Caymanas Park on Saturday, January 24, has been suspended by the stewards for three racedays for careless riding.

He was penalised for causing interference to the favourite LADY WALES approaching the 400-metre point. His suspension takes effect tomorrow.

Jockey Milton Powell also picked up three racedays, this for careless riding aboard PIECE A FOOT in the third race on January 24 as well.

His mount caused interference to SAMBA DANCER and RIC-KABYA leaving the 1000-metre point of the course. His suspension also commences tomorrow.

Jockey Ameth Robles was the third jockey to be penalised following disciplinary actions by the stewards at the Winchester Road offices of the Jamaica Racing Commission on Tuesday.

The back-to-form Panamanian, who rode UNIVERSAL BLESSING in the fourth race on Saturday, January 31, received a one-day suspension for the interference caused to LADY CAMILLE in the vicinity of the 1000-metre marker. His suspension will embrace the race meet of Saturday, February 14.
