WI vs England down the years
Keisha Hill, Staff Reporter

Sabina Park has provided some of the greatest moments in cricket's history in the Caribbean. It is the home ground of Kingston Cricket Club, founded in 1863, and was once considered one of the fastest pitches around.

'Bina', as it is popularly called, also has a rich history of great individuals who have paraded their skills on the pitch.

The first Test between the West Indies and England 79 years ago is perhaps one of the most significant in Test cricket's history. England's Andy Sand-ham recorded the first triple century in the game with 325 versus the West Indies in the 1930 game, to which the Great George 'Atlas' Headley responded with a brilliant 223.

England had not dominated the West Indies in the Caribbean since 1968, until they recorded a 4-0 whitewash in 2004.

England were 5-0 losers to the West Indies in 1984, 5-0 losers in 1986 and, thanks to rain, 4-0 losers in 1988.

In 1990, the West Indies recovered to win the fourth and fifth Test matches to take the series 2-1, and in 1991, after winning the third and fourth Tests, they lost the fifth to share the series 2-2.

The Englishmen are now back in the Caribbean, hoping to relive their 2004 thrashing.
