Judge not
The Editor, Sir:

For many of us as Jamaicans, passing and declaring judgements on our countrymen, and anybody else for that matter, is almost a reflex action.

In this regard, I was made a bit uncomfortable by two letters published on February 3, so, please, afford me just a small amount of space to make a request of the judges and prophets who would seek to rule on the death of Kassim 'Moses' Grant and the shortcomings of the Church.

My request is that unless the Lord God has given them a message, and I cannot judge, they should refrain from speaking or insinuating, evil of the dead - and living.

Imperfect

I am in no position to tell what is in a man's heart, especially if I don't even know him, but I have a strong suspicion that the Lord knows them that are His without any help or recommendations from us.

I knew a younger Kassim personally and heard him often confess his faith with and without music. If the word of the Lord is to be believed, he is in a far better place today, regardless of the circumstances of his death.

We are all imperfect men and women living in a world that groans for redemption. There is one judge and lawgiver, so let him that is without sin cast the first stone.

Grace and peace to his family. Long live the Church of Jesus Christ and thanks be to God for His mercy ... 'or de whole a we dead'.

I am,etc.,
