With FIRELINK scoring a 50-1 upset in the ninth race at Caymanas Park last Saturday, both the Pick-9 and Super-6 eluded punters.

As a result, the Super-6 boasts a hefty carryover of $1,128,408, while the Pick-9 has $1,063,664 in the kitty.

The Pick-9 will embrace races two to 10, the Super-6 from from five to 10. We look at the Super-6 which gets under way in the fifth race with a $270,000-$240,000 claiming race to be contested by eight starters over 1600 metres.

From all indications, the race is expected to come down to a three-cornered tussle involving SAMBA DANCER, TOUCHDOWN and the front-running TRACK STAR under champion jockey Omar Walker.

TOUCHDOWN and SAMBA DANCER will be closing hand over fist, however, and TOUCHDOWN, with only 52.0kg, should get there in the nick of time. They again venture over a mile in the sixth race for maiden three-year-olds and here the ones that matter are UNDAUNTED, THE RED SKULL. SERGEANT STONEHAN and SIR JAADU BABA.

While it should be close among this quartet, THE RED SKULL to be ridden by Walker for champion trainer Wayne DaCosta gets the nod on the strength of his fast-finishing second (beaten a neck) to VALENTINE LOVER over 1300 metres when making his debut on December 17.

Briefly, FIRST LADY (working well) gets the nod over PLEASURE FLIGHT and THE GREYT DOCTOR in the seventh, while LIKKL:E BIT, OUTSTANDING and HEAD OF STATE should provide answers for the last three races.
