SDA fishermen?
The Editor, Sir:

Reference is made to The Gleaner of January 17, page A3 'Allen perfect man for the job - SDA leaders'.

The SDA representatives seemingly forgot the saying 'fisherman never says his fish spoilt'. They would have spared themselves and Dr Patrick Allen all the embarrassment if they had said: "Brother Allen we know you are a Seventh-day Adventist like us."

The perfect man

You are the perfect man for the job of Governor General. However, since those Sunday worshippers are criticising us and we must defend our faith and while the Queen bears the title 'Defender of faith' but is not one of us, we are better off avoiding people who don't want us to lead them.

Let us follow brother Daniel - refuse to eat the king's meat while we stand up for the faith. Jesus is the only perfect man.

I am, etc.,
