Brendon Nash, Xavier Marshall and Nikita Miller, who recently returned to the island from West Indies duties in New Zealand, were the only three of eight Jamaicans on tour with the Test team, who have been considered for the next West Indies Regional Four-day Championship match.
When Jamaica face the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) in Barbados, starting this Friday, captain Chris Gayle, who The Gleaner has learnt is resting and Jerome Taylor, for whom instructions were given by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) that he should not be selected because of an injury, will not take the field.
However, Carlton Baugh Jr, Shawn Findlay and Darren Powell, the other three players who came in last week from New Zealand, were not considered for selection.
Spin bowlers
Miller's inclusion will bring the number of spin bowlers in the squad to three, joining Gavin Wallace and Odean Brown, Jamaica's leading wicket-takers in two matches so far with 16 and 11 victims, respectively.
A source close to the action told The Gleaner that the selectors would opt for three spinners - Miller, Wallace and Brown against the Combined Colleges and Campuses in Barbados.
Meanwhile, three mambers of the Jamaica team which secured a win and took first innings honours against Trinidad and Tobago, will return to the island today.
Middle-order batsman Wavell Hinds has been granted time-off to attend the funeral service of a family member.
Also returning are Under-19 representatives Jason Dawes and Horace Miller, who are yet to taste any action at this level.
Squad: Brenton Parchment, Danza Hyatt, Donovan Pagon, Tamar Lambert, Keith Hibbert, Odean Brown, Andre Russell, Andrew Richardson, Nikita Miller, Nash, Marshall, Wallace and David Bernard Jr.
