At the 'Shaggy and Friends, I dare you' concert held at Jamaica House on Saturday, January 3, a wide cross section of the Jamaican public came out in a show of support for the charity of the musician's choice, Bustamante Hospital for Children.

The concert was an entertainment-packed event, which included a six-course dinner and auction to raise funds for the hospital.

Persons with platinum tickets got the royal treatment. They walked the red carpet as Scotiabank volunteers escorted them to their tables.

The lawns of Jamaica House were transformed into an oasis of glamour. Sofas and comfy chairs were strategically placed all over the grounds so guests could kick back and enjoy the night. There was a first-aid station, dessert and refreshment bars, and the decor for dinner was gorgeous and featured a gold, cream and white theme. The entire concept was well thought out and everyone had the chance to be in on the action.

Shaggy got many of his fellow artistes to perform for free and, as anticipated by many, the show was fantastic. Among those who got great rave from the crowd included Tarrus Riley, Etana, Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths and the 'Energy god', Elephant Man, delivered as usual. He got many deemed unlikely to know dancehall moves doing the 'Gully Creeper' and 'No Linga' moves.

American R&B soul singer, Macy Gray, gave a wonderful performance and when she got to I Try the crowd sang along with her. Socca queen Allison Hines also gave a spectacular performance. From the start of her performance to end, patrons got down and dirty. And the man of the hour, Shaggy, had the crowd screaming for more. The night ended on a high note and everyone left satisfied.
