Why is it that the police appear not to be able to stop the slackness which the society in general and people in some residential areas have to endure week nights and weekends from some sound-system operators?
I still have in my mind's eye, an elderly woman lying in her bed with her hands on her head, rolling from side to side even as the sound-system operator turned the speakers towards her house, with graphically explicit sexual lyrics.
She has lived there for most of her 80 plus years. This youth had just moved into the area. And this happens almost every night of the week across the island.
Why is it that a particular mid-island operator can operate his slackness every Sunday night until 7:30 a.m. Monday, even as citizens try to make it to work.? Who tied the cops' hands?
Sick society
I am just about at my wits end when I see some police officers preying on some people in the society even as they pretend not to hear nor see the activities of others.
This society is sick to the core. May God help law-abiding citizens of this country.
It seems as if the police dare not stop some heavily tinted vehicle with X-rated music and movies, loaded with schoolgirls and boys; they dare not ticket some people who openly violate traffic laws.
To watch them ignore flagrant infractions and then step across the road to ticket you because you stopped to allow someone to pass, is getting unbearable. The law should apply to everyone.
What are we to do when someone can rent a house in a residential area and operate it as a club whose patrons include officers of the law?
Mr Prime Minister, this is all some of us are asking you for. A peaceful night's sleep. If people want to listen to this type of noise then let them lock themselves in and poison their minds until the cock crows, but why hold us at ransom?
I am, etc.,
