December, even in Jamaica, can be a little chilly; so big up to National Commercial Bank Insurance Company for heating things up. The company hosted its staff party last Saturday at the Liguanea Club in New Kingston and the Hawaiian theme was just what the 'coldish' evening needed. With the stunningly attractive hula-clad women presenting you with leis at the entrance to the venue, a disco light in the foyer and introductory pina coladas and jelly shots waiting for you, feeling welcome was inevitable.
Plus, one of Jamaica's leading sound systems, Renaissance Disco, was the musical maestros for the evening so the dancing shoes were a must; the fire-eaters added their own 'spark' to the proceedings. Jaja Culinary Services took care of the meals; the honey citrus-scented shrimp and martini mashed potato salad were some of the scrumptious delights. The sorrel-infused cheesecake was too tempting for many to resist.
The call was for guests to dress festive and some took it literally, donning the warm colours of the season. Of course, some of the party fanatics didn't come out until close to midnight when the party vibe was arguably at its peak. The energy level went into warp speed and they partied hard.
Guests out included Dr Peter Charles, Rosalee Hood, Olivena Holness, Latoya Baugh, Shakeela Elliott, Rachel Boyce, Michelle Miekle, Opal White, Derrick Foster, Tony Robinson and Viviene Bailey-Hay.

Wow is about the only thing we can say about Rachel Boyce, one of the hula girls at the party.
Once the soca got going, the ladies started jumping.
