AFTER THREE days of relentless searching for the man known only as 'Chris', who was allegedly the driver of the ill-fated truck that plunged into a ravine at Dam Bridge, Portland, the police are now appealing to residents for assistance in finding him.
Since the horrific accident on Friday, which claimed 14 lives, the police have confirmed that Chris is not a resident of any community in the Rio Grande Valley, where the accident took place. They said they have so far been unsuccessful in locating any of his relatives.
"My understanding is that the driver is in fact a resident of Boundbrook, near Port Antonio," said commanding officer for the parish, Superintendent Dudley Scott. "We have been vigilant in our efforts and it is as a result of that vigilance that we were able to gather information about his community of residence."
While Chris remained unaccounted for, Scott was of the opinion that whenever he is located, he should be provided with counselling, as he, too, could be psychologically affected by the incident.
