The senior citizens of Port Royal, east Kingston, received an early Christmas treat on Saturday when party promoters Mad Circle Entertainment toured the community, donating care packages of food, toiletries and Digicel prepaid credit to members of the Port Royal Golden Agers Club.
"Twice yearly we host our signature event 'Osmosis' in Port Royal at Fort Charles and for the time we are here you accept us into your community," Philip Palmer, of Mad Circle Entertainment, told the gathering. "We already have a relationship with the Port Royal Football Club and wanted, especially at this time of year, to extend that relationship to the stalwarts of the community."
With the help of their sponsors Digicel, Wisynco and Tru-Juice, the members of Mad Circle Entertainment were able to personally deliver more than 50 packages to the elderly, including Port Royal's oldest living citizen, 98-year-old Evadnie Reid.
Iva Hylton gave thanks on behalf of the golden agers, noting, "It is well appreciated."
The next Osmosis will be held on Friday, December 19, at the old naval hospital, Port Royal, under the theme 'City on the Bay'.
