We all have favourites, whether it's mouth-watering roast fish and bammy or just an enjoyable game of dominoes. We aim to find out your top five Jamaican favourites based on each week's theme. This week, Saturday Life explores the preferred Jamaican dishes of Mercelly Williams, 72.

5 Stew peas and rice: Mi nuh know, it just taste good, it sweet to mi belly. When I was a child, stew peas and rice was the lick inna my granny kitchen, so I guess that's how mi get fi like it suh much. I could go for some right now (laughing).

4 Boiled green bananas:Mi will eat boil green banana wid almost anything. Mi seh when you put di crush banana inna one plate wid dumpling, yellow yam, and mackerel, Lawd, wah sweet suh! Mi just like the way it eat with other food kind.

3 Fried or boiled sweet potato: Breakfast, lunch or dinner, it can't be beat. I especially like it when yuh cut it inna big slice and fry it up with some salt fish an' mi cup a tea. A my breakfast dat!

2 Ackee and susumber: Me a one woman weh love mi vegetable an' fruits an' t'ing, but nutten nuh come close to mi ackee and susumber. Mi jus love the flavour and di combination of di two. I get a sensation when I eat it, it just nice an' mi a Jamaican, suh mi ackee have to be in mi favourites.

1Rice and peas with pork:A lot of persons love rice and peas, but pork a number one inna di world. I don't know what God put inna da meat deh. Nuh matter how much mi eat it, mi can't get tired of it. This dish a mi top-a-di-top favourite!
