Myriad scenes of country life in Jamaica, abstracts in metalwork and paint, portraits that make photo realists proud and gorgeous pottery brought life to the Cornwall Room of the Tryall Club during this year's launch of its annual art exhibition, dubbed 'Island Expressions'.

In attendance were renowned artists such as Christopher Gonzalez and Barrington Watson, as well as budding ones like Jeffrey Samuels and Damion Cunningham. There was inspiring metalwork from Sandy McGann and unique pottery from Alpha Arts.

As patrons poured into the room, their choice of white or red wine was provided, while their senses were stimulated by the pieces on display; some surreal - providing glimpses of other-worldliness, while others evoked emotions of sadness or happiness.

Assistant managing director of the Tryall Club, Delwin Rochester (left) and Jamagi-nation's Wayne Gallimore had their attention completely captured, clearly by a fine work of art!

perfect complement

Live music provided the perfect complement to the evening as old friends laughed, chatted and discussed the wonderful works of art well into the night.

We spotted: CPJ's Mark Hart, Shelly Hoon Keith and her husband, John, Katherine May and her daughter, Savannah, Saba's Samore Smith, Vista Print's Antonio Parke, Jamagination's Wayne Gallimore, Lynn Packard, Sheila Ralph, artists Sandy McGann, Shawn Cuddy, Jeffrey Samuels, Assistant Managing Director Delwin Rochester, among others.
