Traffic changes for Byron Lee funeral today
Major traffic changes will be implemented today to facilitate the thanksgiving service for legendary bandleader, Byron Lee.

The service, which is scheduled for the Abe Issa Auditorium at St George's College in Kingston, will commence at 1 p.m.

Changes

North Street will be closed to regular traffic and instead be converted into a one-way thoroughfare heading west between South Camp Road and St James Street.

The closure will take effect from 11 a.m. and will remain in place until 2 p.m.

Traffic travelling eastbound along North Street will not be allowed to proceed beyond St James Street for three hours.

Vehicular traffic travelling east along North Street should turn left on to Central Avenue and then right on to South Avenue, left on to East Avenue, right on to North Avenue, continuing on to Campbell Road, then turn right on to Godwin Park Avenue to access South Camp Road.

Parking

Emmett Park has been designated the general parking area.

To get to Emmett Park, persons should enter Mid Ave-nue, which is off East Avenue between GSB Co-operative Credit Union and Lithographic Printers, and then make the turn into Emmett Park.
