The article 'Keep the fight in the House' is another instance of blaming the Opposition rather than holding the present administration responsible.
It defies both logic and experience to treat the location from which Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller chose to make her comments (a hastily called press conference in the precincts of the House) as an act of cowardice.
For one thing, this has been a method used by Opposition parties before. It was famously the method used to bring media attention to the Trafigura affair. Was it an act of cowardice then?
The real issue
For another thing, the real issue here is that Prime Minister Bruce Golding misled Parliament and sought to deny the undeniable, the acquisition of land to benefit his colleague Senator Hyacinth Bennett and her Hydel Group of Schools in the previous sitting of Parliament.
His confession without contrition while broadbrushing the Opposition indicates that he has not only failed to live up to the promise of transparency and good governance, but he is also jettisoning the offer of constructive engagement.
It is unfortunate that the article missed the truly important issue.
I am, etc.,
