Peetah Morgan flies solo

Peetah from Morgan Heritage.

MORGAN HERITAGE lead singer Peetah Morgan is currently working on a solo project with producer Shane Brown of Juke Boxx Productions. He told The Gleaner last week that his collaboration with Brown will produce songs totally different from his work with Heritage.

"I didn't want to do songs and people say it sounds just like Morgan Heritage. It's R&B with hip hop and dancehall overtones," he said.

The Morgan/Brown combination has already yielded the song Save The World, which gained favourable airplay locally.

Peetah Morgan is not the only Morgan Heritage member flying solo. Brothers Gramps and Mojo are also working on projects, but he was quick to point out that this does not mean the end of the group.

"It's something we discussed while we were on the road. We're already talking about our next project which we want to be a concept album," he explained.

Top reggae act

Morgan Heritage has been one of the top reggae acts of the past decade. Their hit songs include Don't Haffi Dread to Be Rasta and Down by the River.

The group's last album, Mission in Progress, was released this year.

Morgan told The Gleaner last week that his collaboration with Brown will produce songs totally different from his work with 'Heritage'.
