Byron Lee, one of the finest
The Editor, Sir:

MUSIC, is the Most Unique Sounds In Coordination. It is a classic example of simplicity from complexity, complexity from simplicity, variety in uniformity and uniformity in variety. Music is a true reflection of the unlimited creativity and ingenuity of the human potential. What would life be without music? It is almost inconceivable.

Jamaica has produced some of the finest musicians, singers, song-writers and entertainers of local, national, regional and international recognition. Byron Lee and the Dragonaires ranks highly and favourably in all categories.

Miss Tiney wined, many danced and pranced, others moved to the groove and some reflected and relaxed as Byron Lee and the Dragonaires thrilled and entertained for over half a century.

A wide variety and genre of music, ranging from the faster, infectious and pulsating calypso/soca rythyms to the slower, soothing and serenading instrumentals of Soft Lee entertained, enlivened and enriched us.

Street parades

Byron Lee founded and coordinated the annual Jamaica Carnival and street parades, thrilling and filling patrons with Live Exciting Entertainment.

Lee was a leader, a visionary. There were laudable, enterprising endeavours from the studios to the stages and marketplace, creating, arranging, recording, performing and distributing popular music. These helped in transforming and promoting Jamaican and Caribbean music throughout the world.

He now journeys on. Condolences to his family, friends and fans. He made and left his mark by MUSIC, Making a Unique, Significant, Indelible, Contribution to our rich cultural heritage.

He is sadly missed but will always be fondly remembered as LEE, the Legendary, Exemplary, Entertainer!

I am, etc.,
