BALLARDS VALLEY are champions of the Intown SuperSave Uprising Community cricket competition in St Elizabeth after beating Comma Pen by eight wickets in the final recently.
Comma Pen, the 1996 champions, were sent in to bat and were bowled out for a paltry 109 in 25.1 overs.

National representative Shane Powell top scored with 36 and was supported by Algrove Johnson, 21, and Ferron Findley, 12.
Mark Gordon and Trace Powell were the pick of the bowlers with figures 3-33 apiece from seven overs. Andrew Russell, 2-14, and captain Davian Davidson, 2-11, supported them well.
In reply, the champions quickly erased the deficit by slashing Comma Pen bowlers to all parts of the ground, reaching their target of 110 runs in just 10.3 overs.
Daniel Ricketts led the way with 51, which included five sixes and three fours. He was supported by opening batsman Davidson, 22.
The champions took home $75,000 and the Intown Super-Save Trophy while the beaten finalists collected $35,000.
In a 20/20 exhibition match, which was decided on after an early end to the final, Ballards Valley collected an additional $5,000 after beating Comma Pen.
Content, a St Ann-based team in the Social Development Commission's (SDC) National Community cricket competition, was disqualified on Wednesday from taking any further part in the competition.
This is Content's second disqualification, having been thrown out of the inaugural tournament in 2006.
The disqualification resulted from Content's use of more than two elite players in a match against Summer Hill. Content used five elite players, which is over the limit for the use of elite players in the competition overall.
According to tournament rules, each community squad will be entitled to a maximum of four elite players from the top local domestic competitions namely: Supreme Ventures Super Cup/Pro League; Red Stripe Senior Cup; Capital & Credit Limited Overs competition; Senior parish teams. However, only a maximum of two such players may be nominated for a particular match.
